The Maryland Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) are now in effect — marking a new era in sustainable building management across the state. This portal, powered by **The Cotocon Group**, helps building owners, facility managers, and developers understand, benchmark, and comply with BEPS efficiently.
Under the Maryland Climate Solutions Now Act of 2022, all buildings 35,000 square feet and larger must annually report energy data and begin planning to meet phased emissions reduction standards starting in 2030. The first benchmarking report deadline is **September 30, 2025**.

**60% GHG reduction target by 2031** and **net-zero emissions by 2045**

Applies to **commercial and multifamily buildings ≥ 35,000 sq ft**.
